You Have Questions, We Have Answers

Again, our professionals will be more than happy to answer whatever questions you may have. Here are the answers to some of the most common ones we receive.

Does your aluminum meet the same standards as steel?

Without a doubt. Our conduit complies with just about any industry standard that exists. These include UL-6A, CSA C 22.2 No. 45 (Canada), ANSI C80.5 and others.

I have a lot of galvanized fittings. Will they work with your conduit?

Yes. You can use either galvanized or aluminum fittings with our RMC. NEC 344.10(A) allows you to do so.

How much harder is it to cut and thread aluminum versus steel?

It’s actually the opposite. Aluminum is incredibly easy to cut and thread. You won’t need any special dies and cutting tools – simply use the ones you already have on hand.

Is it more difficult to pull cables and wires through aluminum conduit?

This is another case where the opposite is true. Our PullEase EMT is very appropriately named, because it makes pulling wires easier than ever. It has small ridges on the interior that reduce friction to the point that no type of lubrication is needed.

What does aluminum conduit cost versus steel?

You can save as much as 20 percent when you turn to aluminum. In fact, our customers routinely save tens of thousands of dollars simply by changing to steel. Some save in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Aluminum is only a third the weight. You can cover three times more distance with 100 pounds of aluminum than you can using 100 pounds of steel.
