Aluminum electrical metallic tubing (EMT) from American Conduit provides excellent mechanical protection to conductors and cables and will save you thousands of dollars on every job.

American Conduit is a product brand of Hydro, the largest aluminum extruder in North America. Based in St. Augustine, FL, we have 35 years of experience in the production of aluminum electrical metallic tubing in diameters from ½-inch to 4-inches and a wide range of lengths. Our nationwide distribution network ensures easy access for customers from coast to coast.

Why Choose PullEase Aluminum Electrical Metallic Tubing (EMT)?

EMT, sometimes called thin-wall conduit, is manufactured in galvanized steel and aluminum and is used to protect and route electrical wiring. It is more popular than galvanized steel rigid conduit (GRC) in commercial and industrial applications due to its lighter weight and lower cost.

Our PullEase aluminum EMT is a patented design with a ridged interior making wire pulling fast and quick.

Aluminum EMT ConduitWhile steel EMT is more commonly used, American Conduit aluminum EMT has some important advantages to consider, including:

  • Costs less than steel EMT
  • Lighter in weight than steel and easier to maneuver
  • Easy field fabrication
  • Highest strength to weight ratio of any metal
  • Inherent EMI shielding
  • Improved thermal and electrical conductivity
  • Naturally corrosion resistant
  • Non-magnetic
  • Non-sparking
  • Non-combustible
  • Non-toxic even at high temperatures
  • Better visual appearance with no rust, streaking or discoloration
  • Virtually maintenance free
  • UL Listed
  • Adheres to ANSI C80.3
  • National Electric Code® (NEC) compliant
  • Readily available and in stock

Additional Advantages

American Conduit aluminum PullEase EMT is made with a high purity 6000 series aluminum alloy, which ensures excellent strength and exceptional corrosion resistance. This makes it an ideal solution for installations where GRC steel tubing would not be suitable due to water or chemicals, such as in food processing plants.

Aluminum EMT conduit can be easily cut and bent on the job site, resulting in neater installations, and does not require many manufactured fittings. Although it cannot be threaded, threaded fittings can be clamped to it. This is a major advantage, particularly when following irregular or curved building profiles.

Aluminum EMT helps block the electromagnetic radiation emitted by electrical circuits that causes unwanted interference and noise. When installed with proper fittings, it also provides greater protection from fire and explosions by preventing the flow of flammable gases and fumes from volatile substances.

Aluminum cannot be embedded in concrete because it reacts to the alkalis in cement, but aluminum EMT conduit can be coated to protect it from incidental contact when installed in concrete walls and slabs.

The bottom line is that PullEase aluminum EMT installs faster, provides tremendous resistant to corrosion, reduces the likelihood of on-the-job injuries, and can help you realize savings such as these on your next project:

  • Office Building – $20,000
  • Residential Development – $15,000
  • Waste Water Treatment Plant – $10,000
  • Hospital Complex – $25,000
  • University Building – $10,000
