Here’s a closer look at American Conduit RMC and PullEase EMT.

RMC

This is a very thick, rugged form of tubing that is built to withstand the elements as well as impacts. You simply attach different segments of RMC by screwing easy-to-use connectors. RMC does an excellent job of protecting wiring from damage, as well as protecting nearby equipment from electromagnetic interference.

RMC is a very popular choice for use in a variety of industrial and commercial settings. For years, galvanized steel has been the go-to material. But more and more contractors are turning to aluminum instead. Steel is extremely heavy. As a result, lifting it and moving it into place can be a very difficult, time-consuming process. Aluminum, on the other hand, is much lighter. It takes more people to install steel than aluminum, which translates into higher labor costs.

But just because aluminum is lightweight, that doesn’t mean it’s fragile. We treat our conduit with special alloys that ensure not only incredible strength, but also durability. American Conduit RMC is just as strong as steel, and it also won’t corrode. Aluminum has an advantage steel doesn’t – a natural coating of aluminum oxide that protects our RMC from corrosion or rust.

Cost savings are also substantial, from both a materials and labor perspective. Aluminum RMC is anywhere from 10-20 percent less expensive than steel. Since you don’t need as many workers to install aluminum conduit, you could see labor savings of as much as 75 percent.

EMT

PullEase EMT from American Conduit is thinner than RMC, and also unthreaded. As the name implies, our EMT makes pulling cables incredibly easy, and incredibly fast. PullEase EMT also offers excellent protection from the elements, as well as chemical vapors and moisture. You can use it inside or outside with the same level of confidence.

PullEase features a patented design that includes a ridged interior. This makes pulling wires much faster, even when compared to other types of aluminum EMT tubing that has smooth walls. Unlike other products, you won’t need any type of lubrication whatsoever when using PullEase.
