Aluminum Conduit is the Best Choice

A comprehensive research study conducted by independent consulting firm IBIS Associates highlighted the cost savings and other benefits of aluminum conduit in comparison to traditional steel conduit, making aluminum well worth your serious consideration.

Utilizing aluminum conduit means:

  • Cost per foot savings of 10% to 20% compared to steel
  • Lighter in weight and easier to maneuver
  • Improved worker safety
  • Naturally corrosion resistant
  • Tough natural protective oxide layer
  • Better visual appearance
  • No maintenance painting or treatment is required
  • Does not spark like steel, reducing the risk of explosion
  • Non-ferrous and non-magnetic
  • Provides a superior ground return path
  • Is environmentally friendly and non-toxic, even at high temperatures
  • The LEED-favored material requires minimal energy to recycle
  • Meets the same code requirements as steel conduit

If you have always believed that aluminum conduit is more expensive than steel conduit, it’s time to reevaluate. Aluminum conduit can replace rigid steel conduit in virtually all applications, and American Conduit can help you save thousands of dollars on your next project while maintaining high performance.

PullEase aluminum EMT can be installed indoors and outdoors to protect enclosed electrical conductors from impact, moisture and chemical vapors. For outdoor use, all fittings, supports and fasteners must be made of corrosion-resistant materials.

We do not recommend directly embedding aluminum EMT in concrete because the metal reacts with the alkalis in cement. We recommend substituting PVC-coated Rigid Aluminum Conduit to prevent incidental contact.

We encourage you to review our case studies to read about projects where aluminum conduit was substituted for steel conduit and resulted in substantial material and labor savings.

American Conduit PullEase EMT products adhere to all applicable provisions of the National Electric Code® (NEC), the Underwriters Laboratories, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), Canadian Standards Association (CSA), and federal specifications.
