About American Conduit

Aluminum Conduit & EMT Suppliers TennesseeFor more than 35 years, American Conduit has been the go-to source for aluminum conduit. Companies in a wide range of industries turn to us on a regular basis, because we offer a reliable, affordable product. As a brand of the global leader in aluminum extrusion, Hydro, American Conduit has access to the strongest aluminum available. In addition, since we have a nearly unlimited supply of conduit, we can pass the savings on to our customers.

Our two most popular products are aluminum electrical metallic tubing (EMT) and aluminum rigid metal conduit (RMC). American Conduit EMT comes in diameters and range from ½-inch to four inches, while our RMC comes in ½-inch to six-inch diameters. Both come in several different lengths.

In addition, we carry couplings and elbows, offering a complete installation system. These are also available in many different sizes to perfectly match your conduit order.

Aluminum EMT

Our PullEase aluminum EMT, as the name implies, makes it incredibly easy to pull wire. The secret is a ridged interior that dramatically reduces internal friction – with no lubrication needed. This thin-walled tubing keeps wires and cables protected from chemicals and moisture. It also protects wiring from insects and other pests that can cause a short circuit by chewing through wires.

EMT is very efficient and fast to install. You simply use clamp-style fittings to connect sections of EMT. You then secure these fittings with setscrews. Not only will you find EMT in commercial applications, but also in many different types of industrial settings. One of the reasons it’s so popular is that it is very easy to cut and bend – without the need for any special tools.

One of the biggest advantages of aluminum EMT is that it stands up well in corrosive, chemical-filled environments, such as a food processing plant. Aluminum can handle chemicals and water much better than steel, which will quickly degrade. Aluminum also protects expensive computer and other electronic equipment from electromagnetic interference. In many instances, electrical circuits inside conduit emit radiation that could create problematic noise and interference. Aluminum conduit takes those risks out of the equation

Aluminum EMT is also much safer than steel. It doesn’t emit sparks, and it doesn’t emit toxic fumes like steel. You can use it in the most flammable environment with no worries whatsoever.

Aluminum RMC

RMC is thicker than EMT. You can use aluminum RMC in the harshest, most demanding applications without hesitation, because it protects wiring from not only the elements, but also accidental impacts.

All of our conduit contains special alloys that make our products just as strong as steel. Since our aluminum is one-third the weight of steel, it costs much less to purchase and ship.
